My friend and I have an intense relationship. I met her at a Yarn Tasting at my favorite LYS, Threadbear Fiber Arts Here is what happened. We were handed a menu of yarns that we would be tasting throughout the evening. A beautifully laid out menu with pictures, description, and possible patterns. Being a connoisseur of fine yarn, I enthusiastically treated my palate to a variety of yarns. Here are the samples I tasted. The photograph does not do them justice--they were wonderfully varied in texture, content, and color.
Then I met my friend--I fell drop-dead in love with Dianna, a yarn by Adrienne Vittadini. Take a look and you will see why. It is 51% Cotton, 49% Acrylic Microfiber and it is softer than a ball of cotton and so glorious to knit up.
So I have decided to knit Adrienne Vittadini's textured tank with traveling cables and eyelets in baby blue Dianna.
I got entirely distracted with knitting with Dianna and reminising about my recent trip to Rome and consequently got behind in sampling the yarn. I would describe Dianna as brilliant, fragrant and flavorful, it has the distinct characteristics of the varietal and is well balanced. So I will be enjoying her for the time being. All other projects have been put aside. Thanks to Threadbear for a wonderful yarn tasting . . . and to introducing me to my new best friend, Dianna.
