Thank you to everyone who posted a comment or back-channeled me with shopping ideas. Unfortunately, my husband came down with a virus so we had to postpone our trip to Chicago. No stash enhancement for me. Next weekend though . . . One of the nice things about having a totally free weekend is that all of those daily items that are not high priority become high priority such as, cleaning my study (whew big mess with yarn, knitting books, professional papers, and professional books everywhere), I switched my email to gmail (and then had to design my home page along with add contacts, organize files, etc.), I made plan reservations for Cophenhagen, Lyon, Grand Cayman and Daytona, and then I wrote long overdue reports. Little knitting happened . . . other than four mystery projects . . . which I cannot reveal at the moment. Here are my Drops mittens and scarf knitted and crocheted from Phildar Variations.
I have also done my part to increase the knitting population by three. These brave women have embarked on knitting with a little help from me and one of my favorite, lys, Threadbear.

Hi Brenda,
I hope DH is feeling better and that you`ll get to Chicago soon. I`m off this afternoon, I wish I could just beam myself home. Talk to you soon!

Bummer, but at least you still get to go visit your son. I love unexpected free days too, I always get so much done!
